Former Lone Star winger Anthony Laffor is training to become a coach, joining fellow ex-internationals in a free LFA course aimed at professionalizing Liberian football.

Former Liberia national team winger Anthony Laffor is taking his first steps into coaching, enrolling in the Liberia Football Association's (LFA) CAF License D Coaching Course.

Laffor is joined on the course by fellow former internationals Marcos Macauley and Zah Krangar. The training is led by James Salinsa Debbah, known as "Coach Bella," who previously coached and captained the national team alongside Laffor.

"Playing football is different from coaching," Laffor said, noting that professional playing experience alone does not prepare someone for the technical area.

The course, offered free of charge by the LFA, is part of a broader push by LFA President Mustapha Raji to professionalize the sport from the grassroots up. Laffor said he hopes to help develop young players as citizens first, before focusing on football itself, and encouraged other retired professionals to follow a similar path.
