Liberia Today is a new, independent English-language news outlet covering Liberia and the world — here's what we're about and what to expect.

Welcome to Liberia Today, a new, independent digital news outlet built around a simple goal: clear, accurate, English-language coverage of Liberia and the world for readers everywhere, on any device.

We are not affiliated with any political party, government office or business interest, and we aim to cover Liberian and international affairs factually and fairly. Our coverage is organized around four areas: Liberia, for national news and everyday developments; Politics, tracking government, the legislature and the country's political life; Sport, following Liberian football and athletes at home and abroad; and Entertainment, covering Liberian and African music, film and culture. Our World section brings readers real, sourced stories from across the globe — from Africa to the Americas, Europe and Asia — including major events, diplomacy and natural events such as storms and floods that affect people's lives.

Every story we publish is sourced, and we label ongoing stories as 'developing' until the facts are confirmed. We won't publish invented quotes or events, and where a story involves competing political viewpoints, we aim to present them fairly rather than take sides.

This is only the beginning. We have more original reporting, features and regular coverage on the way, along with details soon on how readers can reach us, share story tips, and get involved. Thank you for being here from the start.
